Arbitration is a frequently used method of resolving disputes short of going to trial. A neutral party, the arbitrator, reviews the facts, makes rulings on what evidence is admissible, and renders a decision. In commercial and workplace disputes, the decision typically is binding. Arbitration is usually faster and cheaper than pursuing the matter at trial.
